How it began…
I met my first tollers in the mid 2000s while assisting with pet obedience classes. I had always admired the breed and had decided when I graduated from university, I would look into getting one of my own. After many months of learning everything I could about the breed, researching pedigrees, a decade of email list archives, and talking to dozens of people about various breeders and lines, I visited Sue and her tollers at Foxgrove Kennels in early 2010.
Foxgrove Kennels has bred tollers for three decades and renown as the most successful toller hunting kennel in North America - more Master Hunter Tollers have been bred and trained by Sue than by any other kennel. Sue’s huge list of accomplishments, her intuition and knowledge as a breeder, and her skills as a trainer have made her a fabulous mentor. I have made many, many trips back to Foxgrove over the years and each time has been an incredible opportunity to learn from Sue.
In 2016, I brought home Fizz, my third toller from Sue who we co-own together. Fizz became my own foundation for breeding as the dam of my first litter, carrying on a small piece of a great legacy.
Carrying on the Foxgrove lineage is the best way that I can honour the breeding program that gave me the best teammates I could ever ask for.
